Gabi's Gimi Suit

from Streetniks by Shuffle Demons

/

about

This song was written during our 3 month summer busking tour of Europe in 1985. We were stopped by the while playing on the street in Nice, France, and an angry crowd formed demanding that we be allowed to keep playing. A lovely woman named Gabi invited us to play a party at her small villa in the mountains north of Nice a week later. We showed up and had a wonderful time and at one point she took it upon herself to ask us to ask us to improvise a tune for her. This was that song. It's dedicated to her and to Gimi, the Parisian/Gambian tailor who sold us our first look 'Gimi suits.'
